Politicians work for the interests who fund their campaigns. They trade favors and give their rich friends tax cuts, all handing us the bill and letting us figure out how to make do with less. I am working for the people of Nebraska and no one else. I live in Nebraska, my family lives in Nebraska, and those are the people I want to serve. Ricketts only wants to make his rich friends richer.

Our elected officials have a true and uncertain fear of their constituents. Why? Because their true constituents are corporations and special interests that put money in their pockets. Ricketts is an owner of the Chicago Cubs, does that sound like someone who would fight for Nebraska, let alone even think about Nebraska? I think not, and I am running to stop him.

Nebraska has a long and proud history of working with the Railroads. The FRA has long been undercut and undermined to suit corporate interests. Because of this derailments are increasing, property is being rendered unusable, and people are being killed. The railroad companies are cutting safety measures and slashing training all for the sake of their bottom line. We have measures to reel this in, and I intend to use them for the safety of all of us.

We keep seeing our politicians not see their position as a privilege with which to serve the people, but as titles to be handed down as if they were royalty. They get into power and suddenly act as lords who have been born into their role. This has plain and simply lead our country down a path of nepotism and despotism, and now what we are seeing on our streets, tyranny. 

In the richest country in the world we pay more money for worse healthcare outcomes. Private health insurance companies would rather you suffer and die than pay out a single cent in coverage. I support the public option for all Americans, so that people can get the care they need
